Property tax statements are waiting for the printing vendor to receive a correct formatted file from the data vendor in order to print the statements. Others within the County seem to be experiencing the same issue.
The tax file is loaded into the city’s system, and the city can receive payments. Citizens can call the business office and request a statement to be mailed to them; but it will look different then what is normally sent. Citizens can also go to the city’s website and look up their property tax amount.
Property tax payments can be made in person at the City Hall Business Office (rear of the building), mailed to City Hall (100 South Russell St), or made online through the City’s website www.cityofportlandtn.gov by going to the “How Do I” tab and scrolling down to “Property Tax Payments”.
The Finance Department is in contact with the software vendor to get an updated timeline for the mailings.
