On Monday December 18, 2023, TDOT announced its new 10 year transportation project plan.
In the plan, the Portland Bypass is listed. The Northern leg is scheduled for construction in 2025, and the Southern leg is scheduled for 2031. The total project cost is estimated at $206-million.
The Portland Bypass project is managed and paid for by the State, not the City of Portland. TDOT communicated with the City that Right-of-Way offers are being sent out to property owners.
