The Street Dept is responsible for the maintenance of all of the City of Portland streets within the city limits. The street crew performs a variety of maintenance services including the repair of pothole, curbs, sidewalks, signs, drainage tile, culverts, mowing of right of ways, mowing for the codes department, brush and bulk item pick up. During the winter weather months they are responsible for salting the roadway, plowing the ice and snow. Those beautiful Christmas decoration that are put up at the Mini Park, City Hall, and street poles each year is also taken care of by our Street Dept crew.
Brush, Bulk items and Bagged leaves –
All brush should be cut by the homeowner. Place by the roadway and they will be picked up by one of our Street crew. Please don’t mix the brush and leaves with your normal household trash.
Bulk items on Monday’s and Friday’s. Bulk items are large items such as furniture, appliances, televisions, toys, etc. The City doesn’t pick up hazardous materials, chemicals, tires, batteries, wet paint etc.
We have recycling bins at 124 Stevison Ham Rd. Recycle items don’t have to be sorted, just drop your items loosely into the recycling bins. We accept cardboard, paper, newspapers, magazines, tin-steel-aluminum cans, plastic bottles and containers… (NO GLASS OR TRASH)
